MANILA, Philippines – The chief of the state weather bureau yesterday said no weather disturbance is likely to affect the country this week, only scattered rainshowers over the Bicol region, Visayas and Mindanao due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).
Administrator Prisco Nilo of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the ITCZ would bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains over Mindanao and Palawan.
He said the ITCZ would also dump rains over the Bicol region during the latter part of the week.
The rest of the country, on the other hand, would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. – Helen Flores
