Smear campaign floods YouTube

MANILA, Philippines - While some politicians are now using the power of the Internet to reach out to the public, others are using the popular online video sharing website YouTube to launch demolition jobs against the country’s top presidential bets.

One video clip entitled “Noynoy Love Scandal,” which was featured in YouTube made fun of Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III with a two-minute photo slideshow with the popular song “Bababaero” of Randy Santiago in the background.

With 242 views so far, the short video presentation showed his supposed collection of women under “Noynoy’s Angels” that included news personalities Korina Sanchez and Bernadette Sembrano, actress Barbara Milano, and his current girlfriend, Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad.

The slideshow features some pictures of Noynoy and the women with speech balloons that make it appear like one is saying something about the other.

Viewing the Noynoy video clip would also direct you to two other video presentations attacking Sen. Manny Villar.

In one of the videos, Villar is called a “trapo” (traditional politician) along with other political figures whose pictures are placed on top of the real faces of a group of men dancing.

With only 34 views so far, the short presentation is dubbed as the “ultimate collection of trapo politicians,” supposedly referring to former Cavite congressman Gilbert Remulla and Senators Joker Arroyo, Nene Pimentel, and Alan Peter Cayetano.

The end part of the two-minute clip showed Villar screaming in fear before being grabbed and eaten by a giant alien monster.

The second video also showed a supposed “Villar Video Scandal” which lasts for only 59 seconds.

The presentation showed Villar in his “Akala Mo” television commercial while being tagged as a “trapo” who can allegedly buy anyone.

Pimentel and Remulla are again tagged as Villar’s supporters while Senators Arroyo, siblings Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano are being accused of supporting the move to drop the C-5 double insertion road project controversy against Villar.

Both videos of Villar end with a line saying that the same are “paid for by Nacionalista Party” with a message coming from a non-existent website.
