No tropical cyclone in next 3 days
MANILA, Philippines - No tropical cyclone is likely to affect the country in the next few days, only isolated light rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said yesterday.
Pagasa weather forecaster Mario Palafox said the ridge of a high pressure area will bring good weather over most parts of the country in the next two to three days.
Palafox said Luzon, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers mostly in the afternoon or evening.
Meanwhile, Palafox said a low pressure area was spotted east of Visayas yesterday.
However, he said the LPA was still outside the Philippine territory and it was not expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone in the next three days based on latest forecast.
But Palafox said the LPA will bring light to moderate rains over the Bicol region, Visayas and Mindanao starting Wednesday.
Tropical depression “Pepeng” (international name: Parma) left the Philippine area of responsibility Saturday night and moved over the South China Sea.
Pagasa said Pepeng ‘is no longer expected to affect any part of our country.” – Helen Flores
