Board examination for teachers on this Sunday
MANILA, PHilippines - The Professional Regulation Commission yesterday announced that the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) would push through on Oct. 4, Sunday.
PRC examination division acting chief Meden Calderon said they foresee no problem with the coming licensure examination since the selected examination centers were not being used as evacuation centers for victims oftropical storm “Ondoy.”
“All the examinees were already informed of their room assignments so I think the LET will push though with no hitches,” Calderon said.
The nationwide licensure exam for about 85,000 education graduates was originally set on Sept. 27, Sunday, but was reset because of the devastation caused by the storm.
Examination centers in Manila are Ramon Magsaysay High School, Aurora Quezon Elementary School, Araullo High School, Legarda Elementary School, V. Mapa High School, Barrio Obrero Elementary School, Dr. Albert Elementary School and General M. Hizon Elementary School; and private colleges University of the East, Centro Escolar University, University of Sto. Tomas, Central Colleges of the Philippines, Manuel L. Quezon University, Arellano University, Universidad de Manila and La Consolacion College.
Examinees should bring a valid ID to the examination centers where they are enlisted.
Examinees from the provinces who went home after the cancellation can still take the exam scheduled in April 2010. There will be no additional fees provided they file an application form at the PRC main and regional offices and present the Sept. 21 admission slip.
In the past, the PRC conducts LET once a year, until last year when two examinations were held to accommodate the growing number of education graduates.
