More energy drink samples sought for testing

-

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) yesterday urged manufacturers of energy drinks to submit samples of their products for testing .

“They (manufacturers) could voluntarily submit to us samples of their products so they could be cleared once and for all,” PDEA spokesman Derrick Arnold Carreon told The STAR in an interview.

The Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) has already submitted to PDEA samples of Bacchus, Sting, Revicon Ion, Powergold, and the two variants of Lipovitan and Red Bull Light for testing.

He said energy products like Extra Joss, Cobra, and Samurai have not yet been submitted to them for testing. – Reinir Padua
