Tsinoy rescued from kidnappers

-

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A Filipino-Chinese businessman kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf gunmen was rescued by police forces late yesterday afternoon in a village of Indanan, Sulu, police here said.

Chief Superintendent Felizardo Serapio, chief of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operation (DIPO) Western Mindanao Command said Dionghin Que, 60, was saved by pursuing police operatives after he was abandoned by his abductors at Barangay Buansa shortly after 5 p.m. on Friday.

Que, owner of Leng’s Restaurant and Bakeshop, was abducted last Monday afternoon while on his way home to Kakuyugan village in Jolo, the capital town of Sulu.

Serapio believed that the kidnappers were forced to abandon their hostage as police forces closed in on the suspects.      – Roel Pareño
