1,268 out of 4,651 pass CPA exam

MANILA, Philippines – One-fourth or 1,268 of the 4,651 examinees passed the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination given by the Board of Accountancy earlier this month, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said yesterday.

Kristine Arce Pineda of the De La Salle University-Manila (DLSU-Manila) topped the exams with 91.43 percent, followed by Raymund Francis Abuda Escala of the University of Cordilleras (Baguio College Foundation) with 91.00 percent.

Third placer is Ryan Oliver Tui Dy of DLSU-Manila (90.86); followed by Ron Jeric Sarmiento Leonardo of University of the Philippines-Diliman (90.43); Loudie Jay Canonoy Falguera of St. Paul’s Business School-Palo, Leyte (89.86); Jonathan Tan Bino of DLSU-Manila and Lyn Lazarito Osano of Mindanao State University-General Santos City (both 89.71); Marvin Fang Chua of DLSU-Manila and Lyndon Pacalda Jabla of Holy Cross of Davao College (both 89.570, Charles Bryan Mariñas Tan of San Beda College (89.00); Jianessa Camille Domingo Diaz of DLSU-Manila (88.86) and Christopher Ryan Mariñas of San Beda College (88.57).

The PRC said the examination was administered in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo and Legazpi.

The oath taking of successful examinees in this test, as well as in those in the previous examinations who have not taken their Oath of Professionals, will be held before the Board on June 27 at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City.
