Abus abduct 2 in Sulu

-

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Abu Sayyaf terrorists snatched two people after flagging down their vehicle in Patikul town, Sulu yesterday morning, officials said.

The latest Abu Sayyaf caper forced all transportation companies to cancel their trips, stranding passengers in Barangay Taglibi, according to Presidential Assistant for Sulu Amilbahar Amilasan.

Amilasan said reports from his field officer under the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) said Rolando Benitez, driver of Panglima Estino Mayor Munib Estino, and a certain Edmar were aboard the civilian Hummer vehicle, belonging to Estino, when they were flagged down at 9:30 a.m. by an Abu Sayyaf band under Commander Kirrih in sitio Timpuuk.

The terrorists seized the two and the vehicle of Estino and fled towards the mountain, he added.      – Roel Pareño
