-

Consul General Olivia Palala received recently the ASEAN Best Executive 2007 Award  from an Indonesian non-profit organization, the Department of Foreign Affairs said yesterday.

The award was given by the International Human Resources Development Program, a local non-government organization aimed at developing the human resources of Indonesia, according to the report to the DFA of the Philippine Consulate General in Manado City.

Palala was conferred the award in a ceremony held at the Ritzy Hotel in Manado last Nov. 9.

Rudolf de Fretes, general chairman of the International Human Resources Development Program, said Palala was chosen by a group of observers who have been monitoring her activities and work designed to promote bilateral relations between Indonesia and the Philippines, particularly in the southern Philippines and eastern Indonesia.

Palala is also said to have maintained excellent relations with the Office of the Governor, the Regional Police of North Sulawesi, the Indonesian Navy Lantamal VIII and the different local government units.

Apart  from Palala, Ricko Giroth, an Indonesian national and president commissary of the MKP Group of Companies, also received the ASEAN Best Executive 2007 Award.

The International Human Resources Development Program also gives out other annual awards, including Most Outstanding Man/ Woman of North Sulawesi, Woman Motivator for Indonesian Development Award and International Best Leadership Award.

The Indonesian NGO holds its headquarters in  Jakarta, and maintains an extension office in Manado City within the Sam Ratulangi University campus.
