Cancer awareness CD out soon

-

Cancer survivor Pinky Tobiano recently signed an agreement with Star Records for the distribution of her album “HOPE (Healing of Pain and Enlightenment),” a collection of songs dedicated to cancer awareness. Tobiano, who serves as executive producer of the album says, “Through this gift of music, I want everyone to experience healing and enlightenment in their lives, whether they are suffering from cancer or going through trying periods.”

The album is also Tobiano’s way of paying tribute to her mother, who was stricken with cancer herself. Proceeds of the album will go to beneficiaries I Can Serve Foundation and Bosom Buddies. Tobiano’s mother is an affiliate of Bosom Buddies.

I Can Serve Foundation is a non-stock, non-profit foundation that empowers women with breast cancer and women cancer-related information so they can make informed decisions about their health. Founder Bettina Osmeña shares, “I commend Pinky for this project. We know this will go a long way towards benefiting many women battling this disease.”

Bosom Buddies founder Dr. Diana Cua-Balcells, a breast surgeon from Makati Medical Center, who arrived at the event with foundation partner Bunny Rano, states, “The album will not only be beneficial for the body but for the soul as well. With the proceeds, we will be able to reach to more cancer victims and survivors.”

The 15-track album boasts of a stellar lineup of recording stars: Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid who will do a duet, Gary Valenciano, Jose Mari Chan, Toni Gonzaga and The CompanY.

The CompanY’s vocalist Moy Ortiz reveals that the group is contributing two songs for the album. He remarks, “When we were asked to participate in ‘HOPE’, we did not think twice about it. We believe in its cause.”

Helping Tobiano put together the album is Philippine STAR columnist Philip Cu-Unjieng who volunteers, “We want the music to stand on its own, whether one is feeling sick or lonely. The idea really is to make music that soothes.”

We have always believed that music save lives. I hope my album will truly serve its purpose,” concludes Tobiano.

“HOPE” will be out in the market this November.
