The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IP Phils.) launched a series of activities for the month to celebrate intellectual property rights (IPR) week slated on Oct. 22 to 26.
Tonight the Kulay at Salaysay exhibit will open at IP Phils. Alab Art Space along Buendia Avenue in Makati City, featuring the works of members of the Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (InK) that appeared in children’s books published by Adarna House. The show, with Ferdinand Doctolero as curator, runs until Nov. 23.
With the theme “Great Idea! Intellectual Property Rights Week Celebrates Creativity,” the month-long calendar of events includes the Open House series of the office, activities that are open to the public such as IPR seminars, art competition, exhibitions, and storytelling sessions; international seminars on patent; training programs under the Intellectual Property Rights Protection (IPROTECT) Training and other activities.
“Most of our programs for this year’s IPR celebration involve the youth. This is part of IP Philippines’ program to intensify public information and education campaign on the importance of IPR in promoting creativity, innovation and competitiveness, and educate our people, particularly this sector of society,” Adrian S. Cristobal Jr., director general of IP Philippines, said.
