Policewoman probed for sexy pose

The National Police Commission (Napolcom) started yesterday its investigation of a “striptease” policewoman who allegedly posted her picture clad only in a red bra on the Internet.

In a telephone interview, Eduardo Castro, director of the Inspection Monitoring and Investigation Service (IMIS), said they have already established the identity of the policewoman.

Castro, who heads the investigating panel of the Napolcom, described the policewoman only as a Police Officer 2 (PO2) assigned at the office of Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Oscar Calderon.

He said the policewoman entered the PNP in 2004.

“We already established the identity of the policewoman, but I am not yet at liberty to reveal her name. She is a PO, about 30 years old. We have been informed that she filed a leave of absence,” Castro said.

The policewoman will be given a chance to explain her side, he said.

“We will summon her to appear before the IMIS to enable her to explain why she allowed (the posting of) her photograph. Apparently, there is a violation of the ethical standards expected of government employees,” Castro said.

Castro said if proven guilty, the policewoman may be dismissed from the service.

He said if the IMIS is not satisfied with the policewoman’s explanation, administrative charges for violation of the ethical standards for government employees and officials will be filed against her.
