Taiwan asked to adjust OFW quota

-
In the wake of the 11-percent decline in the deployment of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is now asking Taiwan to adjust its quota for OFWs.

This was revealed by a ranking labor official, who said that Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) head Rosalinda Baldoz and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) chief Augusto Syjuco went to Taiwan last week to initiate negotiations on the matter.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, noted that Baldoz and Syjuco discussed with Taiwan’s Council on Labor Affairs (CLA) the possibility deploying more Filipino household service workers there. – Sheila Crisostomo
