Quake hits General Santos

A 5.2-magnitude earthquake jolted General Santos City yesterday morning but caused no damage and casualties, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the tectonic quake occurred at 8:47 a.m. with its epicenter located 146 kilometers west of General Santos City.
The tremor was caused by a movement at the Cotabato Trench, Phivolcs said.
It was felt at Intensity 1 in General Santos.
Volcanologists said there were no reported aftershocks. Helen Flores
