More Korean businessmen coming to RP

-
More South Korean businessmen and workers are coming to the country, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said yesterday.

Labor Undersecretary for Employment Danilo Cruz said the government and the association of South Korean companies in the Philippines have forged an agreement to promote business and employment in the country.

"Under the agreement, the United Korean Community Association Inc. (UKCA) pledged to cooperate with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in creating an environment beneficial to business and employment," he said.

Cruz said to promote local employment, UKCA shall encourage their more than 1,000 member companies to post job vacancies on the DOLE’s Phil-Jobnet.

"The UKCA shall guarantee that the Korean national is not among the class of aliens who are subject to exclusion from entry into the country such as aliens afflicted with diseases and those convicted of crime," he said.

The UKCA would also help DOLE in facilitating the issuance of employment to Korean nationals and to promote labor and management relations in the workplace, he added.

Upon the UKCA’s endorsement, the DOLE would evaluate and process the issuance or renewal of alien employment permit (AEP) to South Koreans aspiring to operate business or work in the Philippines. Mayen Jaymalin
