Filipino students have the potential to globally stand out in their fields of learning and excel in world-class educational institutions, according to the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS).
"Given the potential of Filipino students, we are sure that they would have a bright future ahead after training and development in world-class institutions such as MDIS in Singapore," said Chong Kwan Wai, chairman of the International Business Division of MDIS.
Chong said MDIS, Singapores oldest non-profit professional institute for lifelong learning, welcomes applications from Filipino youths who wish to study at world-class colleges and universities.
In partnership with well-accredited universities in the United States, the United Kingdom and France, Chong explained the MDIS is now offering opportunities for individuals to develop professionally through a wide range of academic programs, including Business Management, Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology, Mass Communications, and Information Technology.
"The MDIS offers full-track progression in its academic programs so that individuals can expect to progress through a professional certificate, diploma, advanced diploma, bachelor degree, right up to a post-graduate degree," he said.
Chong said the MDIS currently has about 8,000 students, a quarter of whom are international students from 30 countries.
"We believe that international students promote inter-cultural exchanges that enhance the growth of students," he added.
Chong said those interested can make inquiries with their Philippine representative in Makati City by through telephone numbers 753-4437 and 864-0735.
He said the success of MDIS is attributed to its strong commitment to high quality standards of education.
"MDISs exemplary education and business excellence was further endorsed in 2003 when MDIS was among the pioneer batch of private institutes to be awarded the Singapore Quality class. It has also attained numerous certifications including CaseTrust for Education, People Developer Standard, Singapore Learning, ISO and IQ Net," he said.
MDIS recently opened its P1-billion UniCampus, which has state-of-the-art classrooms, biomedical laboratories, computer laboratories, a mass communications studio, sporting facilities including a gym, basketball and tennis courts, and an open air amphitheater that can house art performances and other events.
MDIS in located in Singapore, which was ranked the second most competitive economy in the world by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), World Competitiveness Scoreboard 2004, second to the United States of America. Singapore was also ranked as the best place to do business in a 2004 survey of the Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU).
An attraction for those who intend to take their business degrees, MBAs, or even DBAs is the fact that Singapore is home to hundreds of international business conventions and events where students can have the distinct advantage of gaining real-time, cutting-edge business knowledge and networking opportunities.
