Bro. Eddie winds up campaign today

Some four million supporters of evangelist and Bangon Pilipinas Movement (BMP) standard-bearer Eduardo Villanueva are expected to troop to the Quirino Grandstand in Manila’s Rizal Park today to mark the end of his campaign trail for the May 10 elections.

The "miting de avance," which may be turn out to be the largest political rally ever organized in Philippine history, will pull off some surprises, according to BMP spokesman Luis Sison.

Sison cited the would-be attendance of officials who dropped their political affiliates to support Villanueva.

Villanueva had filled the grandstand with almost a million of his supporters during the BMP grand rally in February.

Last week, he brought his "Josiah’s Army" of some 100,000 followers to the heart of the country’s financial capital to disprove survey results showing him having the least number of supporters among the voting public.

According to BMP officials, simultaneous rallies would be held in major cities around the country. All these will be aired live over Villanueva’s television network Zoe-TV 11 starting at 2 p.m.

The televangelist more popularly as "Bro. Eddie" is expected to deliver at 6 p.m. his final public speech before election day.

New groups, organizations and personalities will reportedly come out in the open to reveal their support for Villanueva, leader of the Jesus is Lord movement with a following of some seven million born-again Christians.
