Pope to deliver traditional Easter message today

Pope John Paul II will say his Easter Mass and deliver his Easter Message "To the City and to the World" in Saint Peter’s Square at 9:30 in the morning of Easter Sunday, Roman time. It will be beamed to the Philippines, live by satellite television, at 4:30 p.m. today.

From 4:25 p.m. until 6:40 p.m. on Easter Sunday, the Mass and message will be carried live, nationwide, over Radio Philippines Network Channel 9 in Manila, 12 in Baguio, 10 in Iriga, 8 in Bacolod, 9 in Cebu, 5 in Zamboanga, 5 in Cagayan de Oro, and 9 in Davao.

From 6 p.m. until 8:15 p.m., in the evening of Easter Sunday, it will be televised over the National Broadcasting Network: Channels 4 in Manila, 11 in Cebu, 11 in Davao, 7 in Zamboanga, 11 in Pagadian, 11 Dipolog, 8 in Cotabato, 8 in Tacloban, 2 in Guimaras, 10 in Dumaguete, 12 in Calbayog, 4 in Puerto Princesa, 8 in Naga, 8 in Baguio, 11 in Laoag, 4 in Vigan, 2 in Bacolod and in Iloilo, 4 in Goa, 13 in Romblon, 2 in Sorsogon, and over the Community TV Network in Catanduanes.

From 7 p.m. until 9:15 p.m., in the evening of Easter Sunday, it will be aired over the Intercontinental Broadcasting Corp.: Channels 13 in Manila, 6 in Baguio, 13 in Ilocos Norte, 12 in Iloilo, 10 in Cebu, 10 in Cagayan de Oro, and 13 in Davao.

From 11:30 p.m. it will be carried by the Associated Broadcasting Corp.: Channels 5 in Manila, 2 in Laoag, 28 in Baguio, 5 in Naga, 6 in Legazpi, 11 in Sorsogon, 32 in Bacolod, 21 in Cebu, 8 in Surigao del Sur, 13 in Butuan, 10 in Agusan del Sur, 21 in Cagayan de Oro, 2 in Davao, 12 in General Santos, and 29 in Zamboanga.

GMA-7
will broadcast both the Mass and the Message after their Flash Report Special Edition, late in the evening of Easter Sunday. They have 47 outlets, nation-wide.

John Paul earlier said that he is praying not only for Catholics, but the children of God all over the world, regardless of their religion. At the end of his Easter Message he greets the people of 60 different nations, each in their own language. He will greet the Philippines in Filipino.
