Bro. Eddie counts on votes of silent majority

-
DAVAO CITY – Evangelist and presidential aspirant Eddie Villanueva declared yesterday he has more votes than he needs in the 7.1 million supporters of the Jesus is Lord (JIL) movement.

"I do not only bank on the 7.1 million votes (from the JIL) alone," Villanueva said.

"I know I could count on the ‘silent majority.’ I am banking on the innate goodness of every Filipino that on voting day which is the ‘judgment day,’ they shall cast their votes for me," he said.

According to Villanueva, the silent majority will make the crucial decision to pave the way for the country to experience a change for the better.

"The masses would not vote for the traditional politicians but for someone who could effect that change for the better," he said.

VIllanueva was the only presidential candidate who attended the launching of the Peace Vote Campaign by the Mindanao Peaceweavers at the Davao Trade and Convention Center here. The campaign is being sponsored by the Initiatives for International Dialogues.

VIllanueva spelled out his 10-point program under his Bangon Pilipino party, which includes the quest for peace in Mindanao.

He said Mindanao stands a better chance to achieve the elusive peace under his leadership in adherence to the 10-point program.

"Absolutely and sincerely, we believe we can achieve that long-dream of peace in Mindanao because we have the political will to pursue it since we do not have any excess baggage as to how it shall be achieved," Villanueva declared.

At the same time, Villanueva announced Bangon Pilipino is now in the process of reviewing the list of senatorial candidates from other parties, saying they are set to endorse some of them as "guest candidates" to complete their senatorial slate.

He said the party is also expected to announce who will they choose to adopt as their vice presidential candidate.

Villanueva said he will kick off his official campaign at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City on Wednesday.
