November 5, 2003 | 12:00am
Taiwanese heartthrob Jerry Yan will be the star at Malacañang tomorrow.
President Arroyo will roll out the red carpet for Yan when he makes a courtesy call on the Chief Executive at around 2 p.m.
Yan, alias Dao Ming Zhu, stars in the Taiwanese soap opera "Meteor Garden" on ABS-CBN. He is also the leader of the popular Taiwanese teenage group F4.
Yan, along with F4 buddy Vic Zhu, is set to perform at a concert at "The Fort" in Fort Bonifacio, Makati on Nov. 29.
Zhu will make a courtesy call on Mrs. Arroyo in Malacañang before the concert.
Sisters Barbie (San Chai) and Dee Xu, who also play roles in "Meteor Garden," will join Zhu when he visits the Palace.
Sources said representatives of Yan and Zhu had asked for an audience with Mrs. Arroyo through the office of First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo.
Last month, Van Ness Wu and Ken Chu, two other "Meteor Garden" stars, performed in a concert at the Ultra Stadium in Pasig.
Tomorrow night, Mrs. Arroyo will be the lone guest at the television program "Debate ni Mare at Pare" on GMA-7 at 11:30 p.m.
On Friday, Mrs. Arroyo will join entertainment personalities led by Videogram Regulatory Board chairman Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. and teenage star Jolina Magdangal to launch the "Artista Kontra Droga" program at Malacañang. Marichu Villanueva
