Second love child for bishop

-
Former Antipolo Bishop Crisostomo Yalung’s self-proclaimed lover was rushed to a hospital and was expected to give birth soon to their second love child, ABS-CBN’s "TV Patrol" reported last night.

The exclusive report showed footage of "Frances" and the birth certificate of their first child, whose father was identified as "Crisostomo Yalung," with profession listed as "Church worker."

The former bishop, who went to the US on the heels of the scandal, is now a librarian there.

Earlier, it was reported that Yalung’s self-confessed girlfriend had said their second child was conceived in September, barely three months after the birth of their first baby, a girl.

Meanwhile, the Apostolic Nunciature is expected to name in two weeks three bishops who will head the three newest dioceses in Metro Manila, with the announcement possibly coinciding with the implementation of Pope John Paul II’s decision on the fate of embattled Novaliches Bishop Teodoro Bacani.

Bacani, who left for the US last June 9, was accused of sexually harassing his secretary. The bishop had strongly denied the allegations, but apologized for "inappropriate" expression of affection.

The bishops for the Dioceses of Pasig, Cubao, and Caloocan were supposed to be announced this month, but a Catholic Church source told The STAR it was "too early" for any announcement.

Papal Nuncio Archbishop Antonio Franco returned to Manila last Friday following a trip to Italy officially described as a trip to visit his family. However, there was no official statement whether he met with the Pope during his stay in Italy.

"I assume that the Papal Nuncio has the names already... those could be among the things he brought back from Rome," the same source said.

A papal pronouncement is usually kept in utmost and strict secrecy until the actual day of disclosure.

Archbishop Franco is expected to convene a meeting with the clergy of Novaliches to state the Pope’s verdict on Bacani.

STAR
sources said Bacani had already resigned as a bishop because of the scandal and it was just a matter of timing when to announce it. The same sources said that health reasons would be cited as the reason why Bacani was resigning. With reports from Jose Aravilla
