New MTRCB chief named

Malacañang announced yesterday the appointment of Ma. Consoliza Laguardia as the new chairwoman of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

Laguardia, a graduate of the College of the Holy Spirit and an MTRCB board member herself, replaces former MTRCB chairman Mari-Len Dinglasan.

At the same time, Jacqueline Suzanne Aquino-Gavino, daughter of Makati Rep. Agapito "Butz" Aquino, was appointed to take over the post of former MTRCB vice chairman June Keithley.

Dinglasan and Keithley were earlier asked to go on forced leave after the two reportedly swapped graft charges. – Marichu Villanueva
