New foreign envoys present credentials

-
Newly designated ambassadors to the Philippines from six countries have presented to President Arroyo their respective credentials in traditional military ceremonies at Malacañang.

Yesterday, the President received the credentials of three of them: Anatoli Vladimirovich Nebogatov of the Russian Federation; Dinh Tich of Vietnam; and Karim Ebrahim Al-shakar, who is the Beijing-based ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The ambassadors were feted with military honor rites by the Presidential Security Group (PSG) honor guards and bands – equivalent to the treatment given a visiting head of state.

Last Monday, the President also formally received the credentials of Tikhar Hussain Al-kazmi of Pakistan; Lise Favre of the Swiss Confederation; and Saber Abdel Kadel Mansour of Egypt.

They were accompanied by protocol officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Palace protocol chief Cecille Rebong. – Marichu Villanueva
