DFA identifies Pinay in Pakistan attack

The Filipina wounded in Monday’s attack on a Christian school in Pakistan has been identified as Juliet Visitacion, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday.

Visitacion, an employee of the International Assistance Mission in Afghanistan, suffered hand injuries when three unidentified armed men opened fire on Murree Christian School in Ghareal Camp, Jhika Ghali.

DFA spokesman Victoriano Lecaros said Visitacion was visiting her two daughters Jenny Grace, 14, and Doane Jay, 18, both studying at the school for children of missionearies at the time of the incident.

The two children were the only Filipinos among the 150 students of the school, where around 30 children of US nationals were also enrolled.

Visitacion was released yesterday from medical confinement after undergoing hand surgery at the Ali Medical Center. Aurea Calica
