Coast Guard turns 33

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) celebrates its 33rd foundation anniversary today at the navigation command headquarters in Sangley Point, Cavite with Transportation Secretary Vicente Rivera Jr. as guest of honor and speaker.
PCG commandant Rear Admiral Euceo Fajardo said that aside from Rivera, also invited were Speaker Manuel Villar Jr., members of the Senate and the House of Representatives, leaders of the maritime sector and civic organizations.
To highlight the celebration are the search and rescue demonstration led by personnel of BRP San Juan followed by a press conference with Rivera and Fajardo.
BRP San Juan will ferry members of the media and other invited guests from the PCG headquarters in Port Area, Manila at 7:30 a.m. to Sangley Point.
Awards of merit will be given to deserving PCG officers and men, as well as to civilian personnel.
This years PCG anniversary theme is "Ibayong Paglilingkod sa Bagong Milenyo."
