A cousin of Tarlac Rep. Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III allegedly went into a shooting rampage inside a high-class KTV club in Makati City yesterday morning, killing a security guard and injuring three customers.
The solon's cousin, Antonio "Tony Boy" Aquino, is now being sought by the Makati police for the killing of Jonathan Angel, 31, security guard of Jupiter Place.
The suspect fled aboard a Mercedes Benz sedan with the protocol plate No. 8 right after the incident.
A Makati police desk officer and the city police's Criminal Investigation Division were reluctant to talk further about the incident. However, PO1 Jerome Agapito, who is assigned on the day shift, identified those injured as Jaylin Flores, Roberto Bartolo and Jay Cortez.
The three were hit by stray bullets.
Initial police reports showed that Tony Boy arrived at Room 311 of the Ten Family KTV located at the Jupiter Place Building, Bel-Air at around 12:45 a.m.
Minutes later, he was seen by several witnesses trying to force a woman customer out of the room. The woman appeared to know him, the report added.
While the two were already in the lobby, Aquino was reportedly bumped accidentally by a security man of a certain David So, a Chinese businessman-lawyer.
Aquino, who appeared already irate at his woman companion, allegedly drew his caliber .45 pistol and fired successive shots inside the lobby of the Ten Family KTV.
Security guard Angel, who was posted near the staircase was fatally hit. He was declared dead on arrival at the Makati Medical Center. Stray bullets hit customers Flores, Bartolo and Cortez.
On the other hand, another Makati policeman who refused to identify himself gave a different account of the incident. He said one of Aquino's armed security men was responsible for the shooting during the unexpected encounter with So's equally armed private security men.
A witness interviewed by mediamen, however, maintained that Aquino was alone during the incident and that he was the one who fired the shots.
