Accessing archives

There are various ways to access the archives.

Accessing the archives of an author/columnist

To access the articles of an author or columnist, in his/her article, click his/her name. You will also find a link labeled View previous articles from this author at the end of the article.

Accessing archives of a section

To list the articles of a section, open an article under that section. On the right, you will see the listing of the current articles for that section. Click the link at the bottom of the listing.

Searching the archives

You can access the search page by visiting http://www.philstar.com/SearchBasic.aspx or by typing the keyword in the search box and clicking Search button which can be found at the top right of each page.

Aside from the basic search, other search options are available.

  • Go to advanced search - this option provides various search criteria
  • Browse archives by date - allows you to list all articles given a date. To search articles given a start and end date, use the advanced search
  • Browse archives by section - provides you a list of sections. Upon clicking a section, the articles for that section will be listed.
  • Number of articles to display - Search might yield thousands of articles. These articles are not displayed on a single page since it will significantly increase the page load time. This is the number of articles displayed at a time in the page
