MANILA, Philippines- Sitti Navarro releases her first album under MCA Music dubbed, “Sitti: Bossa Love.”

Sitti, who started with Warner Music Philippines, recently signed a contract under MCA after talks with MCA Music Philippines President Ricky Ilacad.

“In a way para po siyang naudlot na relationship,” Sitti said in an interview Thursday afternoon, January 9. “Si Ricky Ilacad ang nagpasok sa akin sa Universal. By the time na lumabas yung Sitti Live  [no’ng] April 2006, lumipat siya ng MCA. Parang tinuloy lang namin ang naudlot na relasyon.”

In her last album with Warner dubbed “Sitti Sessions,”   several original songs were included, two of which were her compositions.

Sitti, however, says that  her followers "want me to do covers, for me to sing covers in bossa version.”

She adds that doesn’t want to limit herself toone genre of music. So this year, her goal is to have some “self-exploration” when it comes to the music she composes and sings.

“But I haven’t yet done a conscious self-exploration of my music,” she admits. “So this year that’s more of my focus, to discover more what’s really inside me, to write more while promoting this one which is for the fans.

“Kasi for how many years now hindi ako masyadong conscious or hands-on with the kind of music that I want. So this year, this is really a year to listen to what’s really inside my heart.”

Besides releasing a new album, Sitti will also hold  a concert on January 18 at the Music Museum.

This concert was supposedly scheduled November last year. But due to the Typhoon Yolanda that hit the Visayas region, Sitti and MCA decided to move the concert this month.

In this concert, she’ll be performing with Nyoy Volante, who is her co-singer in musical group “Sessionistas,” and Jett Pangan.

It will also serve as a promotional concert for her latest album.
