Grammy Award winner Fantasia promotes 'Side Effects Of You'

MANILA, Philippines - After recently delivering a spectacular performance of her hit single “Lose To Win” on American Idol and bringing her “rock soul” into the homes of viewers watching Centric Live: Fantasia at the Fillmore, Grammy Award winner Fantasia is in New York City this week to continue to promote her fourth studio album, Side Effects Of You, available everywhere on 19 Recordings/RCA Records.

Fantasia will make her promotional rounds with performances and/or appearances on Good Morning America (4/24), VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live (4/24), Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live! (4/25), CNN’s Showbiz Tonight (4/25), NBC’s New York Live (4/26), and The View (4/29).  Check your local listings for channels and times.

While in NYC, fans can meet the American Idol Season 3 winner at J&R Music World (23 Park Row) for a CD signing on April 25 from 6:00-8:00pm. On April 27, Fantasia will bring her unique brand of “rock soul” to life during an unforgettable night at The Beacon Theater where she will perform some of her chart-topping hits, including “Truth Is,” “When I See You,” “Free Yourself,” and “Bittersweet,” which won the songstress her first ever Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.  Fans nationwide can tune into SiriusXM’s Heart & Soul (Ch.  48) on April 26 for an exclusive “Up Close & Personal” performance, broadcasting live at 3pm ET.

‘Side Effects Of You’ reflects a body of work that I call ‘Rock Soul,’ where I’m exploring a new and refreshing sound that reflects my vocal versatility and appreciation for international appeal,” says Fantasia; a description that is resonating with critics and fans alike.  The Los Angeles Times describes the new album as a “disc of sumptuous contemporary R&B dipped in vintage rock and soul,” while the Associated Press proclaims “it reminds us exactly why she captured our hearts to win 2004’s ‘American Idol.’”

The album features guest appearances by Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott on the newly released and highly buzzed about single “Without Me,” as well as Big K.R.I.T. on “Supernatural Love.” Album Producer Harmony Samuels wrote and produced the majority of the songs with the exception of the album title track, “Side Effects of You,” which was produced by Naughty Boy.  Fantasia also takes pen to pad as a songwriter on the majority of the tracks along with Andrea Martin, Emeli Sandé, Sherrod Lambert, Missy Elliott and Courtney Harrell to name a few.

Expanding her musical repertoire, the High Point, NC native will join one of the most popular classical artist in music history - famed multiple award winning Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli  - on selected dates of Bocelli’s current tour.*  Fantasia will sing alongside Bocelli as the duo performs some of his greatest hits in Italian and English. Other guest artists on these dates include conductor Eugene Kohn, soprano Maria Aleida, and violinist Caroline Campbell.
