MANILA, Philippines — Dennis Trillo commended his "Green Bones" co-star Ruru Madrid for his performance in their entry to the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival.
Dennis talked to the press, including Philstar.com, right after the black carpet and premiere screening of “Green Bones” last Friday, December 20, in SM North Edsa The Block in Quezon City.
He was asked about his co-actors in the movie, which was co-produced by him and his wife Jennylyn Mercado’s Brightburn Entertainment.
Dennis said the cast was perfect for their roles, from Michael de Mesa as the head of the correctional facility, Ronnie Lazaro as his fellow inmate, Nonie Buencamino as the former head of prison, to Wendell Ramos as the abusive prison officer.
Dennis was asked about how he and Ruru worked on their scenes since they play the opposing characters: him as Domingo Zamora a.k.a Dom Saltik, the inmate sent to prison for killing his sister and niece, and Ruru as Xavier Gonzaga who watches his every move waiting for him to make a mistake and prove his belief that criminals do not change their nature.
The actor also said that his production company’s collaboration with GMA Pictures is special because of its relatable material, which tapped National Artist for Film Ricky Lee and Anj Atienza for its screenplay. It is directed by his “Maria Clara at Ibarra” director, Zig Madamba Dulay.
‘Yung message niya, maa-apply ng kahit sino, makakapag-reflect kahit anong klaseng buhay at kahit anong pinagdadaanan mo,” the actor concluded.
