MANILA, Philippines- One of the most iconic fairy tale characters will once again delight audiences on the big screen.
Lily James plays the title role "Cinderella" or Ella, the young lady whose father remarried after her mother passes away. Shortly thereafter, her father dies too, leaving her in the custody of her stepmother Lady Tremaine, played by Cate Blanchett together with her stepsisters Anastasia and Drisella played by Holliday Grainger and Sophie McShera, respectively.
Though treated like a servant by her own family, Ella remained kind which captures the heart of the prince (Richard Madden) whom she first met in the woods as an ordinary boy.
When the King called for a ball inviting the ladies in the kingdom to find the perfect girl for the prince, Ella was hindered by Lady Tremaine from attending ball, leaving the girl broken hearted.
But she was saved by magic as her fairy godmother (Helena Bonham Carter) took care of every necessary detail for her to attend the ball. The onlyndeal is that she should be back by 12 midnight for the the magic will wear off that time.
Despite the short time they spent together at the ball, Ella and the Prince fell for each other.
At midnight, Ella hurriedly left, leaving behind a glass shoe.
With a shoe in possession, the Prince began his search for the special girl who captured his heart that night.
"Cinderella" is directed by Kenneth Branagh and will be in cinemas March 11, 2015.
