'Man of Steel' is Warner Bros. highest-grossing film

MANILA, Philippines- “Man of Steel” is Warner Bros.' highest-grossing film for 2013.

With $668 million ticket revenues globally, the latest incarnation of "Superman" was the studio's top film.

The second installment of “The Hobbit” meanwhile is within striking distance with $659 million gross worldwide and counting since it’s still showing in some cinemas.  â€œGravity” has $663 million gross globally to date.

The other films that made it big in cinemas this year are “Pacific Rim” with $411 million, “The Hangover Part III” with $362 million, “The Great Gatsby” with $351 million, “The Conjuring” with $318 million, and “We’re the Millers” with $270 million.

With their films making it big in cinemas worldwide, Warner Bros. Pictures  said it has emerged as the top-grossing studio for 2013, after they ranked number one in the domestic, international and worldwide market shares. Their estimated gross this year reached $5.035 billion.

This 2013 gross, according to Warner Bros. is a new benchmark for their studio, being the second studio to cross the $5-billion threshold.

This year, Warner Bros. has revealed the line up of films they are releasing this year.

For their Summer season, films that will be released  are:

-“Grudge Match”
-“The LEGO Movie”
-“Winter’s Tale”
-“300: Rise of an Empire”
-“Godzilla”
-“Edge of Tomorrow”
-“Blended”
-“Jupiter Ascending”
-“Into The Storm”

While for the Fall season, their line up of films are:

-“Jersey Boys”
-“Tammy”
-“Dolphin Tale 2”
-“Inherent Vice”
-“The Judge”
-“Interstellar”
-“Horrible Bosses 2”
