SYNOPSIS:  A 12-year-old girl named Onang (Yssa Ramos) who lived all her life with her widowed father Tatang (Ronnie Lazaro) at the mountaintop in Ilocos Sur found herself at the doorstep of reaching her dreams – to be a performer.  Onang became a member of a choir which would represent their town at a competition in Manila.  Despite of the disapproval of her Tatang, she did everything possible to be a member of the choir.  Onang was not successful at her first attempt to perform with the choir in Manila.  She ran away from her disapproving father to go to the city of Manila where she could realize her dreams and live a new life.  But Onang learned that staying was more impossible than leaving.

FILMMAKER PROFILE:  JE Tiglao is a film director, writer, cinematographer and an editor. He graduated at New Era University taking up Mass Communication. During his college days, he made one documentary film, two short films and one full feature film. His student films were selected in many nationwide student film festivals.  On February this year, he made his first post-graduate short film Onang starring Yssa Ramos and Ronnie Lazaro. Onang enters Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival this year. It was also selected in Rhode Island International Film Festival giving Onang the privilege to have its first World Premiere there on August.  Two months after Onang was made, JE Tiglao made his second short film starring Anita Linda. He is currently writing the screenplay of his third short film. He is also having a research for his first full feature film to be made early next year.
