Larger than life expedition starts in Prometheus 3D

MANILA, Philippines - “Prometheus 3D” sets off on Earth with the discovery of hieroglyphics from various civilizations around the world, all depicting the same message. From iconic filmmaker Ridley Scott who shaped the momentous “Alien,” “Blade Runner,” “Gladiator” and “Black Hawk Down” films, comes a wholly original epic unlocking answers to man’s beginnings, in the process unearthing rabid realities to their quest.

Anchoring on a ship named Prometheus which takes the explorers to a distant world, the movie also fleets reference to an offspring of a Greek titan named Prometheus who stole fire from the gods to give to mortals.

Additionally, “Prometheus” scribe Damon Lindelof shares that “We’re not going to talk about specifically how it connects to the movie, other than to say that yes, Prometheus was a Titan who stole fire from the Gods because they were keeping it to themselves and they were worried what mankind would do if we got our little paws on it. So, that theme is a resonating idea; what humans are doing that we probably shouldn’t be doing in terms of technological innovation and, perhaps, exploration. Is there a line that shouldn’t be crossed? Part of the fun of the movie is understanding exactly why we called it PROMETHEUS.”

“Prometheus” features an inspired ensemble of multi-cultural and relatable characters: Charlize Theron plays Meredith Vickers, Michael Fassbender as David, Noomi Rapace as Shaw, Logan Marshall-Green as Charlie Holloway and Idris Elba as Janek . All are on a mission where the stakes couldn’t be more enormous than that of the fate of mankind. Fighting for humanity in an environ light years away from Earth, they struggle to defy the harrowing fate that awaits them and the rest of mankind.

“Prometheus (3D)” lands in local cinemas June 7 from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.
