MANILA, Philippines — IU's upcoming single with BTS member V is seeing a name change following "queerbaiting" criticism of its original title "Love Wins."
Set for a January 24 release, the song serves as IU's pre-release track for an upcoming album. It, however, garnered mixed reception from the online community, as many found it "inappropriate." Some argued that the song's title closely resembles a slogan closely tied to the LGBTQIA community, making it appear like a queerbaiting tactic.

As a result, the song was retitled "Love Wins All." IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, explained the name change in a statement.
"We decided to change the title to respect and support everyone who loves in their various ways, and we accept the opinions of those who express concerns that precious messages might be blurred due to the title," the statement read.

EDAM Entertainment pointed out that the word "hatred" is the exact opposite of IU's upcoming song and added its hope that the original message "is delivered without leaving any scars on anyone, as every love wins all in the world with no hatred."
The agency vowed that future promotions will carry the new song title.
IU's last solo release was from her 2021 extended play "Pieces," and she had previously collaborated with another BTS member, Suga, for his song "People Pt. 2."
The singer recently included the Philippines in her upcoming "H.E.R." world tour. She is slated to perform at the Philippine Arena on June 1. IU brought her "Love, Poem" tour to the Philippines in 2019.
This makes IU the first Korean soloist to perform in the venue. Other K-pop groups have mounted their concerts and tours at the Bulacan arena, including girl group Blackpink in March and the first-ever Asia Artist Awards in the Philippines in December last year.
