CEBU, Philippines — John Marc Dizon and Michelle Zamora, both athletes of the University of San Carlos (USC) under the guidance of coach Arvin Loberanis, dominated the Cebu leg of the Milo Marathon staged at the Gatewalk Central in Mandaue City over the weekend.

Dizon, a native of Samal Island, defended his men’s 21-kilometer crown with a time of one hour and 12 minutes.

Jonry Pelones and Jerome Casinillo of Spectrum Runners Club placed second and third, respectively.

In the women’s division, the Bais City-native Zamora reigned supreme with the time of 1:32:00.

Aside from pocketing cash prizes, Dizon and Zamora will also represent Cebu in the National Finals set on December 6 in Clark City, Pampanga, a culminating event that also marks the 50th anniversary of the annual race.

Meanwhile, Spectrum runners came out the most decorated club, with Kendra Taroy, Xyrah Atis, and Scarlet Aras completing a clean sweep in the girls 3K.

Mark Joseph Barenio and Zeus Lecera delivered a 1–2 finish in the men’s 5K, while Jane Pangalao topped the women’s 5K.
