Junior Tigresses clobber Lady Braves

MANILA, Philippines — Santo Tomas made short work of Arellano High School, 25-16, 25-12, in the kickoff of the 2026 Shakey’s Juniors National Invitationals yesterday at the Playtime Filoil Centre in San Juan.
Andreaj Tan Chun Bing facilitated the Junior Tigresses’ balanced onslaught with 11 sets laced by nine points on nine aces in their easy win that lasted only 54 minutes.
Tan Chun Bing is coming off a Best Setter citation in the Shakey’s Girls Volleyball Invitational League (SGVIL) Rising Stars Cup Division 1, which Santo Tomas dominated led by MVP and now collegiate player Kim Rubin.
She drew ample support from Jyrah Romais with six points on three kills and three aces while Ciarra Calfoforo and Eliz Menchavez chipped in five points each.
Cassandra Paralejas, with five points, was the lone bright spot for the Lady Braves.
In the other game, Pacific Volleyball Academy bested Pusong Azul, 25-23,17-25, 15-7.
