MANILA, Philippines — Heart Evangelista discussed head-on the “elephant in the room” during the presscon for her upcoming reality show on GMA, “Heart World,” finally addressing Fashion Week-related issues, particularly her alleged falling-out with her former glam team and rift with Pia Wurtzbach.
First the Kapuso star and fashion icon was asked if the story about what happened with her former team was finally going to be revealed on the reality show, which premieres this Saturday, Oct. 26, on GMA Network.
She said, “Well, most definitely, you know, my past and present are part of my story, so as much as possible, I will show everything on ‘Heart World.’”
She continued, “And I guess, truly, the moral lesson of the story, in a nutshell…I consider myself medyo beterana na rin ako sa industriya. I’ve been here for what? Almost 27 years. That’s a long time for me. I’ve been through a lot. I’ve met different kinds of people. Some stay, some don’t.
“But you have to truly be careful who you trust and who you freely give your heart away to because sometimes, there are emotional terrorists who are able to enter, and they’re there to kill and destroy your life. You have to be wary of that. Maybe not for yourself but for the people in your life that matter. So maybe not for myself, but for the people around me — my husband, my family.
“If there’s anything I regret in my life, it’s that I put everybody at risk. I put our family at risk because I allowed certain people to enter. So beware of emotional terrorists because they do exist.
“What exact crime was committed, you know? Because I let it happened, it was still me who decided, but you have to be careful. Masira na ang buhay ko, ‘wag lang masisira yung buhay ng pamilya ko kasi hinayaan mong makapasok sila. So, not necessarily pertaining to anyone… but as artistas, as normal persons, even like normal people in the office, if you’re too open, may makakapasok. So don’t let your guard down, ever.”
Heart also set the record straight about a rumored rift with the former Miss Universe, who is now working with Heart’s ex-glam team. “Woman to woman, I never had a problem with Pia. In fact, I was one of those who cheered for her. I’d like to think it was the same for her. She was so sweet to even use and post the hashtag #HeartMadeMeDoIt. At that time, I was so touched,” she said when asked by another journalist to react to reports pitting her against Pia. “But it’s the people she chose to surround herself with for specific reasons that makes this whole thing problematic.”
Asked for her message to the former beauty queen, who’s also a regular in Fashion Week events, she said, “If I have a message to Pia, it would be … Congratulations, you have what you needed. I wish you nothing but the best. And good luck. Sana hindi mangyari sayo yung nangyari sa akin.”
Heart also expressed her desire to put a closure on the issue. “I think it’s time for us to sincerely move forward. It is what it is. Everybody should just be happy. Try to take down the personal thing. I have forgiven. I have moved on. If there’s someone who would truly understand, it’s somebody na tunay na magmahal at minahal ko sila lahat. So I still understand. Okay na. I just want to stay on my lane, that’s it.”
