MANILA, Philippines — As Sam Palacios in GMA Network’s “Widows’ War,” Bea Alonzo suddenly finds herself a young widow with untold wealth. As such, her character is always seen in expensive clothes, jewelry and accessories.
Sam is pitted against her former best friend and also a recent widow, George, played by Carla Abellana, and their formidable mother-in-law, Aurora, played by Jean Garcia. And they are always in fabulous outfits.
Bea talked about the "awesome" wardrobe of her nightly family drama thriller on GMA-7 at the recent launch of the artificial intelligence (AI) smartphone OPPO Reno12 F 5G held in SM Dasmariñas in Cavite. Bea is an endorser for the brand.
“I have Qurator Studio, my stylist, headed by Pam Quiñones, who chooses my outfits. So, she does character studies. So, as you can see, in the beginning of the story, Sam was so simple. But right now, her character seems to be in danger," she explained.
Sam, George and the rest of the Palacios have been engaged in a whodunit mystery after a spate of killings or deaths, including their respective husbands, played by Benjamin Alves and Rafael Rosell.
Bea said that her character's outfits reflect the emotional turmoil that her character, Sam, is going through.
"As much as she doesn't want to become one of the Palacios, she's slowly becoming like Aurora. Marami siyang pinaglalaban, so sumusunod din 'yung pananamit n’ya," Bea explained.
