Vina Morales is a proud mom to her equally beautiful daughter, Ceana.

The former brought her 14-year-old child to the recent red-carpet premiere of Viva Films’ “Sunny” at the SM Cinema North EDSA.

Ceana is not sure yet if she’d like to join showbiz but she told the press that she can sing and dance “a little bit” like her mom.

“She’s pretty — mana sa mommy or mana kay Shaina (Magdayao, Vina’s sister)? Mas mana kay Shaina, eh, sabi,” said Vina with a laugh, referring to her daughter.

The actress also shared that she and Ceana’s dad, Cedric Lee, are co-parenting for the sake of their daughter.

“I’m very happy to announce that we are co-parenting. We’re civil. They always spend time with each other. Actually, yesterday, this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, they were in Tagaytay, so she was with her dad,” she said.

“It’s for the sake of our daughter. And I realized during the pandemic, forgiveness talaga, eh. You have to forgive, life is short, so it’s also for her sake. So they’re both happy. I’m happy. So, we are just enjoying our journey.”

Asked about her current love life, Vina simply replied, “OK naman. Haha! Masaya naman.”

When furthered queried if she is open to the idea of tying the knot someday, she said, “My God. I’m not saying na it’s ano ha… But of course, that’s one of my dreams. If it’s gonna happen soon, then it’s OK.”

“But right now, I think mas gusto ko yatang ako na lang muna. I mean, I have Ceana naman. You can’t really tell who are you gonna end up with. So, I don’t want to talk about (that) actually because I wouldn’t know kung sino talaga ang para sa akin,” she added.

Vina, nevertheless, firmly believes that with or without love life, she is complete because she has her daughter. She is also grateful that she’s able to experience motherhood.

“So, I’m not in a hurry. I freeze my eggs, so if there’s another opportunity for me to have a baby, it’s OK kasi naka-freeze naman yung eggs ko,” she said.

Is she ready to have another child?

“Anytime, or (through) surrogacy, you’ll never know,” she offered. “Alam mo naman yung science.”

Meanwhile, “Sunny,” the Philippine adaptation of the South Korean hit movie of the same name, is now showing in cinemas nationwide. Jalz Zarate helmed the film. It also stars Heaven Peralejo, Angelu De Leon, Bea Binene, Sunshine Dizon, Ashtine Olviga, Candy Pangilinan, Abby Bautista, Ana Roces, Aubrey Caraan, Tanya Garcia, Ashley Diaz, Katya Santos, Heart Ryan, Marco Gallo, Joko Diaz, Xia Vigor, and Jao Mapa.

The film is about former high school friends who reunited to grant their friend’s dying wish. Vina urged the moviegoers to watch “Sunny” together with their pals.

“This is the time you get together and then reminisce about your moments together as barkada, high school (students), or whatever moments you have together as friends. So, this is just an opportunity for you guys to be reunited again,” she explained.

The flick about friendship also marked Vina’s comeback project with Viva Films.

“It has been a long time because I’ve been doing soap opera, teleserye and I did a lot of concerts abroad and here. So, ito nasundan but I’m more excited because it’s like my comeback movie with Viva Films after so many years that I haven’t worked with them,” Vina shared and added that she will always be grateful and thankful to Viva, which discovered her as a child.

If given the opportunity, she named Robin Padilla as the actor whom she would like to collaborate again with in future Viva projects.

Vina and Robin previously acted together in the films "Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum," "Di Pwedeng Hindi Pwede," "Miss na Miss Kita," and "Eto Na Naman Ako."
