Pinoys never thought that they would catch this lovebug again for you, Jonas Brothers!
Fans were indeed speechless and breathless after the American boy band, composed of real-life brothers Nick, Joe, and Kevin, performed their hit songs through the years during the “Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour” last Feb. 22 at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.
It’s been more than a decade since Jonas Brothers first visited the country in 2012.
The trio kicked off the night with the song What a Man Gotta Do.
“It’s so good to be back! To be here tonight, to celebrate a nearly 20-year journey,” Nick said during the opening number.
“I said Manila! It’s been way too long. We’re so excited for tonight, we’re just getting started,” Joe shouted as fans giggled in excitement.
The band continued entertaining fans with S.O.S, Hold On, Goodnight and Goodbye, and That’s Just The Way We Roll.
After singing a medley of Still In Love With You, Australia, Hollywood, Just Friends, and Games, Nick recalled how they explored Manila and tried some local food, noting, “I have to say, we have to come back sooner.”
Nick also shared a little story on how they spotted a pianist playing a “familiar song” at the hotel they were staying.
“In the hotel lobby, there’s a pianist, playing some music and we heard a familiar song. We realized that actually it was our song,” said Nick.
“To the person playing the piano at our hotel, thank you. To our incredible fans here in the Philippines, thank you for making this song one of our most popular (song) in this country,” he added.
The crowd went wild as the band performed another hit song When You Look Me In The Eyes.
Fans also sang along as the siblings serenaded the crowd with Lovebug, Paranoid, and Burnin’ Up.
Their songs from the “Camp Rock” films — Gotta Find You, Introducing Me, and Play My Music — left the crowd nostalgic, remembering Jonas Brothers’ 2008 American musical television film.
“Many, many years ago, we were at a little movie called ‘Camp Rock.’ I know we said you will hear a lot of songs from different albums but Manila, you are so special, we want to switch things up,” Joe said.
While performing Walls, the arena was illuminated with lights as fans enjoyed singing while holding their phones with their flashlights open.
Nick, Joe, and Kevin then went into a medley from 2019’s Happiness Begins — Comeback, Rollercoaster, and Strangers — the album they released after getting back together as a band in 2012.
Nick noted that their one-day Manila concert was the band’s first tour stop for 2024, as they welcomed old and new fans to their growing family.
Joe even understood the assignment to capture photos using a disposable camera after a fan handed it over to him. Another fan was lucky enough to receive a “drawing” for his next tattoo from Joe.
Towards the end of their nearly two-hour concert, Nick performed his solo hit single Jealous followed by Joe performing Cake by the Ocean.
The trio finished the concert with I Believe, Only Human, and Sucker, after which Nick exclaimed, “You’ve been incredible tonight!”
Jonas Brothers ended what Nick described as an “incredible” night with their song Leave Before You Love Me, as they introduced each member of the band before bidding goodbye to their Pinoy fans.
In an Instagram post a day after the concert, the brothers expressed gratitude for the warm welcome they received from their fans.
They wrote in the caption along with photos from their comeback concert in the Philippines: “Manila… You were LOUD last night!! What a way to kick off the international leg of #THETOUR. Couldn’t have asked for a better first night back (heart emoji). Thank you for having us!”
