MANILA, Philippines — Netflix revealed that its "La Casa de Papel (Money Heist)" spin-off "Berlin" will premiere on the streaming platform at the end of the year.
"Berlin," with Pedro Alonso reprising his character Andrés de Fonollosa, is set years before the events of "Money Heist" during the character's golden years as a renowned thief.

"I'm looking for something unique. Enthusiasm, beauty, freshness — all the things that make life worth living," says Andrés in Spanish in an announcement trailer, still unaware of the terminal illness that will turn his life around.
Andrés' latest heist in mind is to make millions disappear, and to pull it off, he seeks the help of one of the three gangs he’s ever stolen with.
Making up his gang is Michelle Jenner's electronic engineering expert Keila, an eminence in electronic engineering; his philantrophic confidant Damián played by Tristán Ulloa; his squire Roi played by Julio Peña Fernández; Begoña Vargas' reckless Cameron; and Joel Sánchez's action man Bruce.
Also in the cast are Samantha Siqueiros, Julien Paschal, Masi Rodríguez, and Rachel Lascar as "Money Heist" stars Itziar Ituño and Najwa Nimri reprise their roles as policewomen Raquel Murillo and Alicia Sierra, respectively.
"That's the great thing about robbery, the energy of love... I'm a poet," Alonso's Andrés continues in Spanish over teasing clips of the "Berlin" show.
"Money Heist" creator Álex Pina is the showrunner alongside collaborator Esther Martínez Lobato. Both also co-wrote the show's eight episodes with David Oliva, Lorena G. Maldonado, and David Barrocal, the latter a series director with Albert Pintó and Geoffrey Cowper.
"Berlin" begins streaming on Netflix on December 29.
