MANILA, Philippines — As her surname suggests, Miss International first runner-up Ahtisa Manalo of the Philippines is surely a winner.

But how about her first name, what does it mean?

During a recent interview with Philstar.com, the 20-year-old, five-foot-seven-and-a-half beauty from Candelaria, Quezon explained how her unique name, Ahtisa, came about.

Manalo almost made it to give the country its seventh Miss International title after she finished first runner-up in the competition held at Tokyo Dome City Hall in Japan on November 9.
