MANILA, Philippines—Romance, which means more happiness and celebrations, is the ruling star of the Year of the Fire Rooster. So, unlike last year, this year is a good time to have a baby or get married, says feng shui expert Princess Lim Fernandez.

“Since it is a fire year, people will be high-blood, but when it comes to love life, they will be hot for love,” adds another feng shui guru, Aldric Dalumpines.

Wearing an arowana ring on the forefinger of your left hand, with the head facing up, makes your love life “hot as ever before,” Dalumpines claims.

If you want to get the upper hand in the marital bed, sleep at the left side of your spouse, he adds.

Magpies, says Fernandez, are the feng shui item of the year if you are looking for love. She also recommends having a haircut to leave behind past loves and breakups in the Year of the Fire Monkey.

Celebrities in love

The celebrities’ love stories are among Filipinos’ favorite topics. This is why these celebrities’ fans would follow closely their every post in different social media accounts, down to the milestones of their relationships.

In 2016, several celebrity couples tied the knot, while some of them got engaged. Take a look on who got hitched and will soon be hitched in Philstar.com’s list below.

Weddings:

Pauline Luna-Vic Sotto

Last year started sweet as celebrity couple Pauleen Luna and Vic Sotto tied the knot on January 30 at St. James The Great Parish in Alabang. They have been together for four year before finally settling down. It was not an easy one because of all the hurdles that came their way, yet just like what Sotto said, what they have is “a lot that’s so genuine, it was just unbreakable.”

Solenn Heussaff-Nico Bolzico

Kicking off the series of weddings for the “It Girls” is Solenn Heussaff, who wedded her beau Nico Bolzico in an intimate ceremony held at Combourg, France in May. The Kapuso actress said that her wedding with Bolzico is just for “formality,” but nothing will change on how they are as a couple.

Georgina Wilson-Arthur Burnand

The announcement of Georgina Wilson’s wedding with businessman Arthur Burnand came as a surprise to many. Nonetheless, everyone was happy to see her walking down the aisle on April 30 at the St. Peter’s Cathedral in Winchester, United Kingdom. The wedding was attended by family and close friends.

Isabelle Daza-Adrien Semblat

The last among the “It Girls” who tied the knot last year was Isabelle Daza. She wedded her French beau, Adrien Semblat, at St. Francis Parish in Lucignano, Tuscany in Italy on September 9. Similar with Solenn Heussaff and Georgina Wilson, Daza kept the ceremony simple and intimate, with only family and close friends in attendance.

Kaye Abad-Paul Jake Castillo

One of the most private celebrity couple tied the knot last year, Kaye Abad and Pal Jake Castillo. Despite being celebrities, the public admired how they were able to maintain a private relationship, which is why mny celebrated with them when they got engaged in May. The couple tied the knot on December 9 in San Pedro Calungsod Chapel in Cebu.

Rufa Mae Quinto

She may be unlucky for a while with love, but finally, Rufa Mae Quinto has already found her destiny, Trevor Magallanes. After their engagement early last year in US, the couple immediately worked on the details of their wedding, which happened on November 25 at Blue Leaf Cosmopolitam in Libis, Quezon City.

Nyoy Volante

Nyoy is a grand winner, not only in “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” but also in his personal life for he finally exchanged “I Do’s” with his long-time girlfriend Mikkie Bradshaw. The two theater performers tied the knot on February 26 at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Manila.

Karel Marquez

She may be unlucky with the first one, but surely, the universe has prepared something better for Karel as she found forever with partner of four years, Sean Fariñas. Their pre-wedding video has been the talk of the town because of its deep and meaningful message. No wonder everyone was also touched with the simple and solemn wedding last December 1 at Santuario de San Antonio Church in Forbes Park, Makati.

Engagements:

Anne Curtis-Erwann Heussaff

After six years of being together, Anne and Erwan is finally engaged! Since her friends Solenn Heussaff, Isabelle Daza, and Georgina Wilson got engaged and married, the public has been asking when it will be Curtis’ turn. The couple would often answer that they’re not in a rush, and they just proved that everything worth it is worth the wait.

Coleen Garcia-Billy Crawford

Before the year ended, another celebrity couple got engaged. “It’s Showtime” host Billy Crawford was on his knees when he asked for the hand of his girlfriend for two years, Coleen. It was a quiet event, which was witnessed by close friends and family.

Kylie Padilla-Aljur Abrenica

To pacify rumors that Kylie is pregnant with on-and-off boyfriend, Aljur, the actress recently posted a photo of her engagement ring from Aljur. Her widely-followed character, Amihan, in the prime time fantasy soap “Encantadia” has been killed to pave way to her pregnancy.
The lovebirds are said to be flying to Australia, so Kylie can concentrate on her pregnancy before they can tie the knot.
Kylie’s dad, actor Robin Padilla, wishes the two the best of luck.

The aftermath! Bolognese high hehe ? @kylienicolepadilla
