MANILA, Philippines - There’s a new flavor at Eastwood City Walk and in nearby areas of Quezon City. Outback Steakhouse has opened its latest branch in the vicinity, offering the “new” Outback in terms of look but with the same worldwide brand recognition.
Two major events coincided with the pre-opening. These included the Charity Night where Outback founder and chairman Prasoon Mukherjee, a first-generation entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist handed over Outback’s donation to the children of SOS Village, their beneficiary. In line with Outback’s success in the industry, Mukherjee says, “The aim of restaurant business should not be just creation of wealth but a pool of satisfied people — everyone from customers to staff, business partners and vendors. That is our recipe for success.”
Adding color to the event were sports and showbiz personalities as celebrity servers, among them, GMA 7 news anchor Connie Sison and Paolo Abrera, Benjamin Alves, Rocco Nacino and Anton Roxas with beauty queen Laura Lehmann, ramp models Rhobe Parrel and Caitlin Nocom. They were joined by the Talk ’N Text cagers and hosted by Suzi Entrata.
Held simultaneously was the VIP Night and ribbon-cutting rites led by Mukherjee who was joined by UAE Ambassador to the Philippines Moosa Abdulwahid Al-Khajah and Marquez. Also present were Bienvenido Delgado, SOS Children’s Villages Philippine National director; Utso Bhattacharya, Outback Steakhouse Southeast Asia CFO; Tariq Sidiqui, Ella Fernandez, operating partner, Philippines, Mark Diones, marketing officer, among others. Romnick Sarmenta, singer model Jamjam David and 99.5 PlayFM’s DJ Margaux Sue also graced the event.
