MANILA, Philippines - Does former Ilocos Sur Gov. Chavit Singson really want to buy shares of a TV station in partnership with Manny Pacquiao?

“Not now,” Singson told movie writers whom he invited for a quick tour of Vigan City. “We are still looking for investors or from whom to borrow the capital.”

If ever, Singson said that he wanted Pacquiao to be his partner.

“Manny and I are partners in some business,” he added, “so if our plan to invest in television pushed through, kelangan magkasama kaming dalawa.”

For a starter, Singson is producing and hosting a show called Happy Life for GMA News TV, through White Lion Productions intended to be aired every Sunday at 10 p.m.

“We have taped a few episodes already,” revealed Singson. “Through the show, we would like to help people. We plan to build houses and schools. We need the support of the local government and the barangays, plus the DSWD documentation. We go around different places as we select people who need help. Pinipili namin ‘yung masisipag. It’s a reward system. Pero hindi puede lahat baka tamarin na sila at wala nang magtipid.”

Incidentally, Singson has just filed his COC (Certificate Of Candidacy) as running mate of his son, incumbent Ilocos Sur Gov. Ryan Luis.
