MANILA, Philippines —  Edu Manzano reminds Filipino voters to be careful in voting in the coming 2016 elections.

Edu has a background in politics, having served as Makati vice mayor in 1998 and lost to Vice President Jejomar Binay twice. His first bid against Binay was in 2001 for the mayoralty and for vice president in 2010.

Having an idea on how politics works, he believes that somehow the public are at fault why some "inefficient" politicians are in the government.

"Siguro it's time to consider na kasalanan din natin if we put politicians in office who are inefficient," said Edu in an interview on Tuesday.

He then added, "Your votes are important. Choose the right candidate. Let the candidates come before you and answer your questions. I don't vote a candidate because the person is popular. Sagutin mo ang tanong ko, and I'll let you know at the end of the day kung karapatdapat kang maging kandidato."

Meanwhile, Edu and Lorna Tolentino assisted some shoppers of Watsons in SM Mall of Asia for their "Switch and Save" campaign. They aim to enlighten the public that having the quality product and saving money could still go hand in hand.

Many admire Edu, who is about to turn 60 in September but is still maintains the best of health without taking maintenance medicines.

"I take pride to the fact na hindi ko pa kailangan ng maintenance and I hope I could live like that for the rest of my life, na wala kong maintenance," he said.

When asked how he takes care of himself, he replied, "bukod sa sabihin nating diet and exercise, kailangan mo pa rin inumin 'yong mga tamang gamot na makakatulong sa iyo to extend the quality of your life like suppliments."
