MANILA, Philippines — Jimboy Salazar remained optimistic to get over his illness before he passed away.

He was able to grant an interview with GMA’s talkshow “Startalk” on Thursday, before he died on Friday due to pneumonia.

“Walang imposible sa Diyos, walang imposible sa Diyos,” he said in the interview aired in the show on Saturday. “Kaya ko ‘to, kaya ko ‘to, kaya ko. Kaya ko ‘to, with your prayers mga friends, tulungan n’yo lang ako magdasal.”

Jimboy stayed with his mom in San Miguel, Bulacan when he got ill. This also paved the way for them to end their rift.

His mom wanted to bring him in a good hospital only they didn’t have enough money.

The former performer also took the opportunity to ask for forgiveness to all those who he might have hurt in the past.

“Sa mga nakagalit ko, patawad, kung sino man kayo dyan. Patawad tao lang naman ako, di ba?” he said. “Tsaka kung sino man ‘yong baklang umaano sa akin, patawad, ako na humihingi ng tawad sa iyo. Kung anuman ang nagawa ko wala akong alam, ‘wag mo akong parusahan. Walang taong gusto ang nangyari.”

Meanwhile, his ex-girlfriend Mahal was shocked when she first heard the news about his death, which she knew through a Facebook friend.

Although their relationship didn’t end well, the two eventually became friends.

“Hindi ako makapaniwala,” she replied when asked about her reaction on JImboy’s death. “Alam ko pupunta pa kami dyan, gusto ko pumunta, pupuntahan namin. Hintayin ko lang gumaling.”

When asked to give a message to her former partner, Mahal turned emotional and said, “Salamat sa pag-aalaga mo and sa pagbigay mo ng pasalubong. Hindi ko inasaahan mangyari sa kanya ‘yon. Hindi ako makapaniwala wala na si JImboy ngayon.”

Jimboy’s remains are now in a chapel in Kamias, San Miguel, Bulacan.
