MANILA, Philippines - Iza Calzado is grateful for being a part of the international film "Showdown In Manila," directed by Mark Dacascos.

She will star with Tia Carrere, the lead actress in the defunct TV series "Relic Hunter," and Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa who starred in the film series of "Mortal Kombat" and "Tekken."

"I'm really grateful, I'm super excited, and it's humbling because it could have been given to another person," she said in an interview on Wednesday.

"I just happened to be at the right place, at the right time and I happen to fit the profile of the character," she added.

Iza was suggested to the director by the film's line producer Elaine Lozano whom she has worked with before in several projects.

Doing this project could open a lot of international opportunities for Iza, but she hasn't thought of it yet.

"I would like to believe it's more than that," she replied when asked if she'll pursue an international career.

"Of course these people will see me, people outside Philippines will see me. It will open a lot of doors, but there's a lot of things to be done before I get to that point."

For now, the Kapamilya actress-host is looking forward to her vacation in England for the Holy Week, before she starts rehearsing for the "Sabel" musical.
