Palakasin Ang OPM set today at Bonifacio High Street

MANILA, Philippines - Be it in the country or else where in the world, one will find a Filipino belting a tune and wowing everyone with his or her vocals. There’s a truth in what Ellen de Generes once tweeted, “Some of the best singers can be found in the Philippines.”

The Philippines is home to the most powerful voices covering a wide range of musical genres. One wonders: What would happen if these voices joined forces? What if a balladeer and a rock icon sing a duet? What would their combined styles sound like? How about an opera singer and a folk singer? Would it actually work?

This all boils down to one strong voice combined with another equally strong voice resulting in a powerful collaboration.

Palakasin Ang OPM: The First 12-Hour Festival is all about this.

Get ready as the strongest voices of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) come together to deliver an unforgettable show. Taking center stage are Lolita Carbon and Davey Langit; Lara Maigue and Noel Cabangon; Ogie Alcasid and Sandwich; Christian Bautista and Basti Artadi; and Gary Valenciano and Quest tonight at 8 at the grand finale concert of the festival at the Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater.

But wait, there’s more. There’ll be surprise performances that await everyone beginning today at 12 noon. Experience 12 hours of OPM from Bactidol, in partnership with Organisayon ng Pilipinong Mang-aawit (OPM). Admission is free. The first 200 participants to show up will get seated at the VIP section.

The event is also presented by Bonifacio High Street Management, Max’s Restaurant, Ryu Ramen & Curry, NYXYS Philippines, Radio Republic, A-Team, Inc., Tonedef and Eagle Broadcasting Corp.
